Two Years in Colorado

Two years in Colorado

We are just about to celebrate our second anniversary of living in Colorado…this statement in itself is crazy to me. So much has changed in the last two years but the one thing that has stayed constant is our strength as a family. When we first decided to move one of the big pros for us was that we, as a family unit, would become stronger. We know what is important to us and what we want for our family. There have been many struggles along the way, but we know that we are creating a life of adventure and new experiences are important to us.

These last few months have been especially challenging as we have moved out of the mountains and into the city. We know that this is just part of the journey and we will make the best of each situation. The biggest challenge most recently has been meeting new friends. In smaller towns there are just fewer places, you run into people more often so you see the same people. The city has a ton more places and a ton more people. Now that school has started it has been great to meet some of the parents in the kid's classes. I know we will get there but for now, it is tough.

We also have discovered that we need to make the effort to get into the mountains when we can. We took for granted how easy it was to walk to the end of our street and be on a mountain trail. We have planned weekend adventures to the mountains to go for a hike and alway come back feeling calm and with full hearts. We are excited to explore new mountains this winter to ski, another family adventure that will be just for the four of us.

As I spend time discovering who I am in this new city, I have been very surprised by how much confidence I have. I am growing and changing into a strong entrepreneur…something I never thought I would call myself. I have made connections and reached out to people that in the past I might have thought were “better” than me. It hasn’t always been easy and I haven’t fully succeeded yet but I do know that I am learning and making progress. I also hope as I build my wellness business I can inspire others too. I have skills that many others have but they don’t use them the same unique way I do.

If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t, you should:) @mountainmamawellness) you have seen some of the growing process. I love sharing and I hope that I have helped to inspire someone in some way. Stay tuned for more of our adventures in Colorado! We love guests too so drop us a line for a visit!! <3
